Managing trees across Southeast Queensland

Marsupial has been working for the Queensland Government, Building & Asset Services (BAS) since 2015, managing tree care at major state schools and public housing sites across Southeast Queensland.

Servicing an area of 14,500km2, Marsupial provide all aspects of trees services within the Gold Coast metropolitan, West and Southeast Brisbane, and from Toowoomba to the Sunshine Coast.

They work closely with BAS to mitigate risk from damaged and hazardous trees, responding to emergency situations, and providing ongoing general lifecycle maintenance for long-term growth. Some of Marsupials services include;

  • visual tree assessments
  • detailed Arboricultural appraisals
  • canopy lifting and crown reduction
  • selective pruning and deadwood removal
  • stump and root grinding
  • land clearing and photographic works reporting

Employing up to 3 crews with 4 staff members, including tree service specialists and Level 8 Arborists, ensures works are completed on time and to a high standard. To keep up with demand, they continuously look for ways to increase work efficiencies, as demonstrated with their recent acquisition of a new 5-ton Isuzu truck and Bandit chipper.

We have been servicing BAS for 2 years now and have seen our crew tackle projects including tree felling, pruning, stump grinding emergency response jobs. As our scope of works expand, we are purchasing new equipment and putting on new staff to keep up with demand and maintain our level of service quality and response times,” said Darrly Cuneo, Marsupial’s Queensland Maintenance Manager.

Importantly, the Marsupial teams carry works with minimal disruption to the schools and residential communities with the safety of the public and their people of the utmost priority.
